– as for anti-tank crews, Tzahal’s sole one will be the late (1987) 2-men Dorban-LR team, armed with the deadly Spike-LR ATGM. – regarding anti-air specialists, Israel will rely first on the Bazak (= Redeye), then on the Barkan (= Stinger A) 2-men MANPAD teams. They will come in two variants, “vanilla” & ’90. – the backbone of Tzahal’s infantry is the Rovait squad, that is regular riflemen. In Wargame, they will come in the form of Miluim militia squads … riding into battle in their glorious Zachlam APC, a.k.a good ol’ WW2’s M3 half-track! □ – the IDF’s reliance on reservists is well-known. – and finally, the IDF will have a 5-men infantry command squad, named Hapak. – as most country ingame, Israel will get a command helicopter in the form of the Saifan Pikud (= Bell 206). – the Merkava Pikud is Tzahal’s command variant of the Merkava I MBT. – the Achzarit Pikud is the command variant of the heavy APC Achzarit, an Israeli original unit (see VEHICLES below). – Mugaf is the Israeli name for the American M577 CPC. – salvaged from the previous Israel-Arab wars, the BTR-40 Pikud is the open-top, command variant of the Soviet recon vehicle. – the M325 Pikud is Tzahal’s lightest command vehicle, a soft skin light truck similar to most other countries’ command jeep. – finally, the last cargo unit is the CH-53D heavy helicopter, known in Israel’s service as the Yas’ur. ![]() – in the early 80’s Israel started upgrading its cargo truck fleet with Oshkosh heavy trucks, more commonly known in Wargame as the HEMTT. – Tzahal’s workhorse when it comes to hauling supplies back & forth between the FOB and the frontline is the good ol’ M35 2½-ton cargo truck, nicknamed Rio in the IDF. – as each and every country ingame, Israel will have a FOB, the only ingame building, to re-supply & repair friendly units. ![]() So, here is an exhaustive review of the Israeli roaster ingame. We’ll be on Twitch at 12:30PM EDT / 9AM PDT to play against our community. Note - I have no clue here in the air tab what is in-timeframe vs out of timeframe, sorry.Nation Pack: Israel will be released tomorrow, on Tuesday, October 4th, at 12PM EDT / 9AM PDT (check the time in your time zone here), bringing 96 new units for this nation to Wargame: Red Dragon. Puma CEV (Sho’t chassis w/ 3 FN MAGs, including 1 in an OWS, 60MM mortar)ĪH-64A Petens (Hellfires? LAHATs? Stingers?) M113 Tamuz ATGM Carrier (M113 with Spike-NLOS missiles) Pereh ATGM Carrier (Magach 5 hull, carries 12 Spike-NLOS missiles and 2 FN MAGs) They might have flechette rounds, which would be far more lethal to infantry than regular HE (think a shotgun round of steel spikes) All Merkavas have an internal 60MM mortar, 1 M2HB, 2 7.62MM MGs (likely FN MAGs), and obviously either a 105MM or 120MM gun. Later Merkavas should be able to fire LAHAT 105MM/120MM GLATGMs. ![]() Merkava IIID BAZ (better FCS and stabilizer, modular composite armor) Merkava III (better drivetrain/powertrain, 120MM gun, better speed, stabilizer, armor upgrades) Merkava IID (modular composite armor on chassis and turret) Merkava IIC (unnecessary, more armor on top of turret to prevent air attacks) Merkava II (chain netting, interior 60MM mortar instead of partially exposed, more fuel storage, better FCS) Merkaka Mk I.I (chain netting for additional HEAT protection, perhaps better ammunition) Magach 7 (M60 with better engine, more passive armor, new FCS, and Merkava tracks) Magach 6B Gal Batash/Magach 7D/Magach 8 (6B Gal with 4th gen passive armor, better engine, angled turret sides and mantlet) Magach 6 (upgraded M60/M60A1/M60A3 with Urdan low-profile cupola and Blazer ERA) Machbet Prototype (M163 with better accuracy/range and 4 stingers) M113 K-6 120MM Mortar (longer range than K-5) M109A5 “Doher”? (can’t find when it was upgraded or other specifics) Shayetet 13: M4 Carbine or CAR-15 or Micro Galil or Mini/Micro Uzi, Spike MR ATGM, either IMI Negev LMG or IMI Galatz DMR Spike ATGM team? (SR, MR, LR, ER variants?) MAPATS-M ATGM team (better accuracy, faster, possibly tandem HEAT warhead or HE warhead) Reservists: Either M16A1 or AKM, RPG-7 or M72 LAW, possibly PKM or FN MAG ![]() Rifles ‘90: Micro Galil, Shipon, IMI Negev Rifles ‘75: IMI Galil, either M72 LAW, B-300, or RPG-7, either PKM or FN MAG M548 Alfa 6-ton Logistics vehicle (is it amphibious?)
